Synodality is the way of the Church today and according to the will of God,In a dynamic of discerning and listening together to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Pope Francis

The Provincial of the Marist Brothers’ Star of Sea Province, Brother Peter Carroll fms, has kindly made available Brother Tony Clark fms for part-time ministry in the Diocese of Sale. Brother Tony will commence as Facilitator for Synodality and Mission.
Brother Tony will assist us in furthering the synodal vision of Pope Francis and our call to be missionary disciples. More specifically, he will assist us in linking the fruits of the Diocesan Assembly 2019, the Diocesan response and engagement in the Decrees of the Fifth Plenary Council, and more recently to the Synod of Synodality (2023-2024). He will work closely with Bishop Greg, Diocesan leaders, clergy and groups, in facilitating our efforts to work across the Diocese in learning to be and become a synodal Church.
Brother Tony’s work will seek to engage us all, parishes and communities, in a process of prayer, listening to the Holy Spirit and discerning how we can allow the synodal vision to flourish in our Diocese. It will demand our openness, creativity, collaboration, prayer and trust in God’s faithful presence.
Together we take up the call of Pope Francis who said: “I dream of a missionary option, that is, a missionary impulse capable of transforming everything, so that the Church’s customs, ways of doing things, times and schedules, language and structures can be suitably channelled for the evangelisation of today’s world rather than for her self-preservation” (Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium, 2013, 27).

We continue to entrust our Diocese to care of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
