There is always a somber and sobering element to the Lenten Season as we prepare for the events of Holy Week… even the darker days of Autumn seem to announce the coming solemnities. As Lent draws to an end and Palm Sunday is behind us, we pause to immerse ourselves in the coming shadow times of Jesus’ last days… the shadows of his aloneness and betrayal, the shadows of his mockery and death. In Scripture, song and silence, we place ourselves in the presence of the Saviour’s passion.
