The Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi

“This Year of Saint Francis should encourage all of us, each according to his or her own possibilities, to imitate the Poor Man of Assisi.”

What message does his life offer to modern man?

“May the Lord give you peace.”

Franciscan Blessing

The eighth centenary of the happy passing of Saint Francis of Assisi from earthly life to his heavenly homeland (3 October 1226).

800th Anniversary

Turning Hope into Active Charity

The Holy Father invites the global Church to look to the Poverello (the poor man of Assisi) as a timeless guide. Pope Leo XIV reminds us that this Jubilee is not just a commemoration of history, but an urgent call to transform hope into active charity, reconciliation, and interior peace in a world deeply marked by social division and conflict.

The Gift of the Plenary Indulgence

To mark this historic 800th anniversary, the Holy See has granted a special Plenary Indulgence until January 10, 2027. Bishop Krzysztof Nykiel of the Apostolic Penitentiary emphasizes that this gift is not a "spiritual shortcut," but a stage on the path of conversion and an instrument of maturation and deepening of faith.
