The Diocese of Sale has been blessed with many lay pastoral leaders who undertake various mission and pastoral care roles in our parishes.
They are people who give their time and gifts for the good of the church community.  On the 10th of August , the lay pastoral ministers of our diocese spent a day at the Sion House in Warragul with the aim of networking, formation and sharing ideas. The theme was “Go Make a Difference”.
The day began in prayer led by the Emmaus Spirituality team. The guest speaker was Ms Rosemarie Prosser (retired lecturer from Yarra Theological Union) who spoke about “linking faith, religion and spirituality in today’s world”.
The attendees were introduced to all the diocesan staff who later joined them for lunch. Mass at midday was led by Bishop Greg Bennet who stressed the importance of their role within their parishes. The afternoon sessions included discussion, listening and sharing experiences about the joys and struggles of pastoral ministry, and how the diocese could support them in their role.
