The First Assembly of the Plenary Council. In January 2018, Bishop Pat began our Plenary Journey with a 6-month series of visits to every parish in the Diocese, preparing us for the Plenary Council Journey which began on Pentecost Sunday in 2018. Finally, after three years of journeying with each other, in listening, dialoguing and discerning and sharing, we have come to the moment of celebrating – the event of the Plenary Council itself.

Our Bishop - Bishop Greg Bennet, Fr Peter Slater, Fr Denis O’Bryan, Katherine Jelavic and Lize Privitera will be representing our Diocese at the First Assembly. Sr Mary Olofu SON from St Agatha’s Parish Cranbourne, is representing the Order of the Sisters of the Nativity. Please continue to hold them and the rest of the Plenary Council Members in prayer.

How can we get involved?

The Plenary Council proceedings are not confined to Members alone. Indeed, the whole Church in Australia is invited to get on board and participate.
