A quote from Pope Francis on service and charity:

“Love and charity, are service, helping others, serving others. There are many people who spend their lives in this way, in the service of others. …When you forget yourself and think of others, this is love! And with the washing of the feet the Lord teaches us to be servants, and above all, servants as He was a servant to us, for every one of us.”

You may be looking for opportunity to serve in your community and there is so much you can do. See the list of volunteer opportunities in your parish, it may be that you could volunteer to take an elderly person to mass, cook a meal for a family in crisis through the local care group or join your local Vinnies group to help on a soup van or volunteer in their shop.
